According to MFD, the four individuals are members of the Midland, Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System.
The department said the team typically assists with wildfire response across the state, but this time they are being called upon to use their skills as an all-hazards response team.
The flooding has killed at least 27 people, and several people are still missing.
