HOUSTON — Houston police say a minor is dead after he was hit by a car while trying to cross the street Saturday night. Officials said the driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
This happened on North Shepherd Drive at Tidwell around 8:30 p.m.
Police were not immediately able to identify the minor, but believe he was around the age of a pre-teen or a teen. The Houston Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene.
The victim was not at a crosswalk when the accident happened and the car did have a green light.
An investigation into the crash is underway. It’s unclear whether charges will be filed.
