Missing 12-year-old North Texas girl in AMBER Alert found, DPS says

Police said she was last seen at 2 p.m. Wednesday near Denton which is 70 miles from where she was reported missing in Waxahachie.

WAXAHACHIE, Texas — A missing North Texas girl who was the subject of an AMBER Alert has been found, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

When the AMBER Alert was initially started, police said the girl had gone missing in Waxahachie. On Wednesday, police said she was last seen near Denton, which is 70 miles from where she was reported missing.

More information about her recovery was not immediately available, but the alert on the Texas Department of Public Safety’s website was changed to “found” status Friday morning. The AMBER Alert was also discontinued.

WFAA has removed the girl’s name from this story, as she is a juvenile and the full circumstances of her disappearance and recovery were not yet known.
