Schertz officials are still unsure if there was foul play involved in the death of 19-year-old Zacharias Stallings.
SCHERTZ, Texas — A 19-year-old man from Schertz last seen Saturday has been found dead, officials say.
Zacharias Stallings, who had Asperger’s, was last seen Saturday in the 5200 block of Nature Path in Schertz – in the area of Eckhardt and Interstate 35 – wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts at the time. Police say he had gone for a jog.
On Thursday at 3:30 p.m., five days later, Schertz PD was searching an area around Schwab Road and I-35 southbound using a drone. During the search, a body was seen in a field in the northwest corner of Schwab Road and I-35. This is about 1.2 miles from where Stallings was last seen.
The body has been confirmed to be Stallings who has now been declared dead.
The next of kin has been notified. Police say they are still not sure if foul play is involved.
