FRISCO, Texas — A 7-year-old girl who was reported missing Saturday night died after she was pulled from a retention pond near Stonebriar Centre, officials said.
According to the Frisco Fire Department, the child was reported missing shortly before 9 p.m. near 2401 Preston Road, the location of an Uncle Julio’s restaurant.
Frisco police and fire crews, along with Lewisville Fire Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety, responded to the nearby pond, where they found a pair of shoes along the bank, officials said.
The girl was found in the water and transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, according to fire officials.
Details on how the girl ended up in the pond were not immediately clear.
