RICHARDSON, Texas — The University of Texas at Dallas in a letter to students, staff, and faculty said police confirmed the death of sophomore Andrew Li, 20, who’d been missing since Feb. 24.
Li was not found on campus, and Dallas police don’t believe there’s any threat to the campus community, according to the letter.
The cause of Li’s death is under investigation.
“We all grieve with Andrew’s family and friends at this sorrowful outcome. We offer our sincere condolences to all who knew him,” the letter. Signed by UT Dallas Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Gene Fitch, reads.
UT Dallas said appointments are available at the Student Counseling Center, and 24/7 counseling is available through UTDTALK by calling 972-883-8255 and TimelyCare.
The university’s Employee Assistance Program offers counseling services for employees as well.
UT Dallas said it will hold the annual Comets Remember ceremony on March 19 to honor all UT Dallas students who died this academic year.
