Mix-up with short-term rental leads to man pointing gun at SAPD

A man thought he had rented the whole house, and a woman rented a room form the homeowner leading to a mix-up in who should be there.

SAN ANTONIO — A mix-up over a short-term rental led to a man pointing a gun at SAPD officers when they arrived to help clear up the incident.

SAPD was dispatched to a home off Marshall Street near Upson Street around noon on Tuesday for reports of an incident.

When officers arrived, they found out that a 31-year-old man thought he was renting the entire house using a short-term rental agency, and a woman was renting a room in that same house.

A confrontation between the two led to the man telling the woman to leave.

She called police to ask for help in getting out her property out of the home.

When police showed up, the man pointed a gun at officers and went inside.

He eventually came back out and gave himself up to officers.

The suspect will be charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.

This is a developing story.
