Organizers said Friday evening the event was still on. City leaders have since discouraged travel during the Winter Storm Warning.
SAN ANTONIO — After Monster Jam organizers said Friday evening that a weekend Alamodome event was full-steam-ahead despite the winter weather threat, it’s now being rescheduled to March.
Feld Entertainment said the event originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday was being pushed back to March 28-29, citing “inclement weather and anticipated road conditions.”
“All tickets purchased for Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25 events, including previously purchased Pit Party passes, will be automatically honored for the rescheduled dates of Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29, 2026 with the same seat locations,” organizers said in a statement.
The change of plans comes after Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones on Saturday morning encouraged residents to limit driving amid a Winter Storm Warning set to impact Bexar County from 3 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.
“If you don’t need to travel over the next 48 hours, please minimize that,” Jones said.
Other popular attractions like the San Antonio Zoo and SeaWorld announced they were closing for the weekend amid the potentially hazardous winter weather, and the Alamo was delaying opening this weekend until noon on both Saturday and Sunday.
Freezing temperatures are expected in South-Central Texas this weekend, as well as the possibility of freezing rain and ice accumulation on roadways.
Governor Greg Abbott on Friday issued a disaster declaration for 134 Texas counties largely in the Panhandle and northern regions of the state, which are expected to be hardest-hit by the storm. Bexar and nearby counties are not included, but many school districts are nonetheless taking precautions by canceling weekend events.
Feld Entertainment that those who bought Monster Jam tickets and hope to exchange them for a different event can do so by contacting their original point of purchase—either Ticketmaster as (800) 653-8000 or the Alamodome Box Office at (210) 704-6306.
