SPURS REFURBISH A BASKETBALL COURT IN AUSTIN

During Spurs Week in Austin, the Spurs unveiled a newly refurbished basketball court at Foundation Communities M Station Apartments in East Austin, in partnership with Self Financial.

Carter Bryant and Dylan Harper were on hand to help with the event, including a special shoe giveaway that allowed local students to customize their own sneakers.

“Creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people can play, connect, and thrive is core to who we are,” said Patricia Mejia, Chief Impact & Inclusion Officer at Spurs Sports and Entertainment, in a release. “What makes this court special is that it’s located right where families live. Access to safe play spaces isn’t guaranteed, and having this court just outside their doors makes it easier for kids to stay active, build confidence, and learn teamwork every day.”

In addition to the court renovation, the initiative includes onsite credit education resources from Self and tickets for participating students to attend one of the Spurs I-35 Series games at Moody Center, complete with a courtside warm-up experience.
