
Officials say that a CPS Energy power line snapped in the middle and fell to the ground across covering both I-10 Eastbound and Westbound lanes.
CONVERSE, Texas — More than 4,000 people are without power in Converse after a vehicle crashed into a power line and rolled over, according to Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened around 8:40 Wednesday morning on East FM 1518 North at I-10 East.
Officials say that a CPS Energy power line snapped in the middle and fell to the ground across covering both I-10 Eastbound and Westbound lanes.
The first vehicle that struck the power line lost control and rolled over, officials say. Then three more vehicles drove over the power line and sustained damages to their vehicles.
CPS Energy is planning to shut down both I-10 & FM 1518 to repair the power line. Traffic will be shut down intermittently and power may be restored around 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
No injuries were reported.
CPS Energy is working to restore power to area.
