CANYON LAKE, Texas — President Donald Trump issued about 1,500 pardons for those charged or convicted in the January 6th insurrection shortly after returning to office.
The siege was considered an act of domestic terrorism by the FBI, prompting the Department of Justice to launch the largest criminal investigation in U.S. history.
Among those pardoned include more than a dozen from right here in South Texas. These people are from San Antonio, New Braunfels, Fredericksburg and other cities in the area.

According to his arrest report, he reportedly took shots of fireball in Nancy Pelosi’s office.
Federal investigators also got video of Evans using a cellphone and megaphone in the Capitol Crypt.
After the presidential pardon, Evans went outside a jail in Washington, D.C., saying people should call the U.S. Marshal’s Office to demand the release of pardoned inmates.
“This act is absolute defiance that happens here is emblematic of the torture, treasonous activity taking place, taking part in for the entirety of these four years where they have abused American citizens, their rights,” Evans said.
According to Reuters, the Federal Bureau of Prisons said 211 people were released from federal prisons after the pardons were issued.
