More than a dozen suspects are behind bars in Guadalupe County accused of sexual offenses against children

Authorities arrested 16 people for sexual offenses in a multi-agency effort they nicknamed “Operation Rolling Thunder.”

GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas — Over a dozen suspects are now behind bars after a major crackdown on sexual predators took place in Guadalupe County last week, and some of them are accused of preying on children.

This is the second operation like this that the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office has done recently.

Authorities arrested 16 people for sexual offenses in a multi-agency effort over two days that they nicknamed “Operation Rolling Thunder.”

According to the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, of those 16, seven were targeting children. All suspects are now facing charges of solicitation of prostitution.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office says they were also able to identify three female victims, and locate a juvenile who was reported as missing.

The sheriff’s office has done a similar operation like this in the past. Sheriff Joshua Ray says those arrested believed they were talking to minors, when they were actually talking to a detective.

When the suspect thought they were meeting up with a minor, instead they were met with law enforcement.

This was a multi-agency effort including the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office, Texas DPS, Schertz Police, SAPD and U.S. Border Patrol.

Guadalupe County Sheriff Joshua Ray vows to continue the crackdown, “no longer will we sit on the sidelines and wait for the call to come in. If you come to Guadalupe County to prey on our children, you will be apprehended and you will go to jail.”

The names of the suspects have not yet been released.
