A jewelry sale turned sideways when a 17-year-old and his mom pulled out a weapon and threatened the victim before leaving with the jewelry.
SEGUIN, Texas — The Seguin Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old and his mother after he allegedly pulled out a gun during a jewelry sale before leaving the scene with his mom.
On Aug. 20, officers responded to the 2200 block of Louise Street after receiving reports of an aggravated robbery.
Upon arrival, the victim told police he had agreed to sell some jewelry to Devon Buehrer, 17. During the exchange, Buehrer’s mother 38-year-old Jaquita Medrano was also present and actively involved in the crime, according to police.
The victim said Buehrer pulled out a gun and threatened him if he didn’t hand over the jewelry.
After the robbery, the two suspects left the scene and the victim called 911.
On Aug. 21, an investigation opened and officials were able to conduct a traffic stop in the 1700 block of North Guadalupe Street on a vehicle that both Buehrer and Medrano were riding in.
The stop led to the discovery of evidence directly linking both suspects to the aggravated robbery, according to Seguin PD.
During the search, officers also found marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamines on Medrano.
Both Buehrer and Medrano were arrested and charged with felony aggravated robbery.
