Motorcyclist dead in La Salle County after single-vehicle crash, officials say

The driver, identified as 35-year-old John Nicholas Ruiz from Cotulla, TX, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained.

LA SALLE COUNTY, Texas — A man is now dead after a motorcycle crashed in La Salle County, according to authorities.

Texas DPS is investigating a single-vehicle accident that happened on Sunday at about 7 p.m.

A blue Harley Davidson motorcycle was reportedly traveling on IH-35 S. At mile marker 72, according to investigators, the driver failed to drive in a single lane, causing the motorcycle to veer into the center median and collide with the center median cable. The impact caused the driver to be thrown from the motorcycle.
