Motorcyclist dies after colliding with truck in south-side San Antonio, police say

Officials said the driver of the pickup truck stopped to try and help after the crash.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was killed late Thursday after crashing into a pickup truck on the city’s south side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

SAPD said officers were dispatched around 10:30 p.m. to the intersection of South Flores Street and Congress Avenue, where a motorcyclist had collided with a pickup truck.

Investigators said he was riding his motorcycle heading north as the driver of the truck was at a stop sign waiting to make a left turn. At the last minute, investigators said the truck made a turn in front of the motorcyclist, causing him to collide with the truck.

The motorcyclist, identified as 33-year-old Glen Quioc Cabatbat, was transported by EMS with life-threatening injuries, according to police. He was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and rendered aid following the crash, SAPD said.

The incident remains under investigation.
