SAN ANTONIO — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with an 18-wheeler on the northwest side of town late Saturday night, police say.

The crash happened on Interstate-10 West near UTSA Boulevard around 11 p.m.

Police say the victim was driving at a high rate of speed when the driver of the big rig made a move to switch lanes.

The truck driver didn’t see the victim, and knocked him off his bike, then ran over him. It is possible that other vehicles hit the victim as well.

First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. The truck driver, as well as other drivers, stayed at the crash scene and cooperated with police.

No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the truck with officers saying that it was just a tragic accident.

This is a developing story.
