Motorcyclist killed in south-side intersection crash, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO — A motorcyclist in his late 30s was killed in a crash at a south-side intersection Friday evening after colliding with a car, San Antonio police said.

The crash involved a man riding a motorcycle southbound on Hoefgen Avenue and a woman driving a vehicle westbound on Florida, a police spokesman at the scene said. The woman told officers she believed the intersection was clear when she proceeded, and the vehicles collided, police said.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 7 p.m., police said. Officers had been dispatched to the crash about 6:39 p.m., according to police.

Investigators were still working to determine who was at fault, police said. Officers were continuing to sort out the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The investigation remained ongoing Friday night, police said.
