Multiple injuries reported after bus rollover crash in Travis County

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, 15 people were taken to the hospital and two are dealing with serious injuries.

AUSTIN, Texas — Multiple injuries have been reported after a school bus rolled over near Sandy Creek Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred in the 22000 block of Nameless Road, near Palamino Ranch Drive and Honey Comb Lane.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, 42 children and one adult were on the bus at the time of the crash. The number of injuries is currently unclear.

Initial reports were that 10 patients were taken to the hospital, but ATCEMS has since confirmed that 15 were taken to the hospital from the scene of the crash. Two people are dealing with serious injuries, while the other injuries are considered non-life threatening.

TCSO says the crash is considered to be a major collision, and the Texas Department of Public Safety is also responding.

A reunification center has been set up at Round Mountain Baptist Church in Leander, and all people who do not need to be take to the hospital will be taken to the church.

KVUE learned that the bus originated from Bagdad Elementary School in Leander. Wednesday was the first day of the new school year for the school.
