SAN ANTONIO — A charge against a man accused of murdering a fast food employee has now been dropped. In August, Joshua Joseph was arrested in the death of Daniel Shrewsbury, who was the manager of Sonic.
Police say Joseph threatened the Shrewsbury before he was shot and killed.
We reached out to the district court, and they told us it was closed after further investigation.
But as far as “why” the charge was dismissed, it still remains unclear. However, Joseph remains in jail.
Court records show he is still facing a charge in what appears to be an unrelated case. Joseph was initially charged with murder a month after the manager was gunned down, while on the clock at Sonic.
Police say Joseph and two other women tried to pay for their food using fake money. Things escalated after the manager confronted the trio and took a picture of Joseph’s license plate.
In response, police allege Joseph told Shrewsbury he was going to get shot.
And that’s when his passenger, 17-year-old Adiah Roberson fired at the Sonic manager. Roberson has since been arrested and charged with murder.
As for the third woman they were with, police say she is just a witness. Once we hear back about why Joseph’s charge was dropped, we will let you know.
