Natalia ISD board approves traditional 5-day week for coming year

Natalia ISD trustees voted to approve the 2026–2027 academic calendar, choosing a traditional Monday–Friday schedule after community feedback.

NATALIA, Texas — The Natalia Independent School District Board of Trustees has approved the district’s academic calendar for the 2026–2027 school year.

District leaders voted 5–1 to adopt Calendar Option B, following discussions and survey feedback from staff, parents and students.

Option B keeps a traditional five-day school week, with classes running Monday through Friday.

District officials said the decision reflects input gathered during the calendar survey process and supports the district’s goal of providing a structured and consistent learning environment for students.

Natalia ISD leaders also thanked the community members who participated in the survey, saying their feedback played an important role in shaping the final decision.

The full 2026–2027 academic calendar will be posted on the district’s website so families and staff can review key dates and begin planning for the upcoming school year.
