SAN ANTONIO — Dozens of San Antonians and visitors gathered across the street from the Alamo as part of the “We Fight Back” rally Sunday afternoon.
The rally was organized by the Party for Socialism and Liberation and was just one of more than 70 rallies that were held across the country.
Several people were seen holding signs with slogans and quotes that demonstrate their fight against capitalism, threats of deportation, the Unites States’ involvement and funding of wars, cuts to social spending and worker’s rights.
“Our action today is an effort to rally any individual and any progressive organization that wants to fight back against Trump and the billionaire agenda of the ruling class,” Jose Montoya, a party member, said.
The rally was held in front of the Hipolito F. Garcia Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse.
San Antonio Police were seen patrolling the rally as a precautionary measure.
