Nearly $6M worth of methamphetamine seized by customs officers at South Texas border, CBP says

The discovery was made Friday, February 13 at the World Trade Bridge after CBP officers selected a tractor-trailer carrying a shipment of powder coating for additional screening, the agency said.

CBP said after a canine alert and a high-tech imaging scan, officers located 30 packages containing nearly 663 pounds of alleged methamphetamine, which authorities estimated to have a street value of $5,926,392.

The drugs were seized and Homeland Security is handling the investigation, according to officials.
