Neighborhood shootout leaves two people dead and three more injured, including child

Police say there was a party at the house and at some point, an argument escalated leading to the gunfire.

SAN ANTONIO — A shootout between two neighboring families leaves two dead and three more injured, including a child, according to police.

San Antonio Police responded to the 300 block of Roslyn Avenue around 9:40 p.m. Saturday for reports of a shooting in progress.

When officers arrived, they found five people had been shot. Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Three more victims were taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

Officers say that there was a party at the home, and at some point, an argument began and guns were drawn.

A neighbor who was attending the party left the home and went back to her house to get her family, and the argument escalated even more. Guns were displayed by both fsamilies, then shots were fired. Police say that several people were caught in the crossfire.

SAPD has one person in custody who may have been involved with the shooting.

All information is preliminary and is subject to change. No other injuries were reported.

The crime scene remains under investigation.

This is a developing story.
