SAN ANTONIO — City leaders and housing advocates celebrated the opening of Four25 San Pedro Apartments this week, bringing 80 new affordable homes to the city and added support for families transitioning out of homelessness.
The development, supported by the city’s 2017–2022 Neighborhood Improvements Bond, was built through a partnership with Franklin Development, the San Antonio Housing Trust and SAMMinistries. Of the 80 units, 25 are designated as permanent supportive housing, offering long-term stability along with on-site services to help residents remain housed.
“Four25 is a testament to what happens when public and private partners prioritize the well-being of San Antonians,” Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones said during the ribbon cutting.
The project also supports the city’s 10-year plan to expand permanent supportive housing. District 1 Councilmember Dr. Sukh Kaur said the location near schools and major transit routes makes the development especially valuable for families.
Four25 San Pedro will be located along VIA’s future Green Line Rapid route, connecting residents to downtown, the airport and job centers.
SAMMinistries will provide case management, health resources and community support services on site. The complex also features amenities such as a fitness center, business center, rooftop gathering space and community areas.
City officials say the project reflects the long-term impact of the neighborhood bond program, which helped fund hundreds of new homes across San Antonio.
For many future residents, it marks the start of something simple but powerful: a safe, stable place to call home.
