New Braunfels police search for suspect in shooting at Applebee’s parking lot

Police said a 19-year-old male from New Braunfels and a 20-year-old female from Comal County suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to BAMC in San Antonio.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The New Braunfels Police Department says it is investigating a shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning at an Applebee’s parking lot.

Officials say officers arrived at the restaurant on the 900 block of the I-35 North frontage road around 12:20 a.m. for a report of a shooting. That’s where officials say two victims were found inside of a vehicle in the parking lot.

Police said a 19-year-old male from New Braunfels and a 20-year-old female from Comal County both suffered gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began life saving measures until paramedics arrived and both victims were transported to Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio.

Officials said the woman is in stable condition while the man is in critical but stable condition.

Police searched the area for a suspect but say they were unable to locate any suspects. NBPD is investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact New Braunfels Police or Comal County Crime Stoppers. A reward of up to $4,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest.
