New details emerge in the death of Savannah and Kaiden Kriger

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office released the cause of death of Savannah Kriger, 32, and Kaiden Kriger, 3, on Friday, March 22. Kaiden and Savannah both died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to officials.

The mother and son were found dead at Tom Slick Park, near Highway 151 and Loop 410, on Tuesday, March 19. The bodies were found not long after the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office issued an Amber Alert for the individuals Tuesday morning.

Salazar said that the parents of Kaiden were going through a custody battle and were supposed to appear in court the day the bodies were found. Court filings show Savannah filed for divorce with a temporary restraining order against Kaiden’s father on March 7. Savannah also filed for a protective order against Kaiden’s father on March 15.
