A new mural in San Antonio honors 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos after her tragic disappearance and death.

SAN ANTONIO — A new mural north of downtown San Antonio honors 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, a missing woman whose body was found after a massive search by law enforcement and the community,

Olmos was reported missing from her home on the far west side of San Antonio on Christmas Eve. Several organizations and members of the community came together in a search.

Her body was found six days later on a property not far from her home. The Medical Examiner has ruled her death as a suicide.

A memorial was held in her honor over the weekend and her death has prompted a conversation around mental health and renewed calls for better services.

San Antonio artist Colton Valentine painted the mural in her honor at a building at the intersection of San Pedro and Cypress, just north of downtown.
