New Spurs NBA Cup court revealed; Fox surprises fans with free sneakers

De’Aaron Fox crashes a pickup game with free sneakers and plenty of smiles.

SAN ANTONIO — The NBA has revealed the new-look San Antonio Spurs NBA Cup court, and it certainly is a slam dunk.

The new court for the Emirates NBA Cup features the team colors, grey and black, with the NBA Cup trophy in the center court and in the paint area under the basket.

“San Antonio” is sprawled across the court, with the team’s alternate logo silhouetted in the center.

The Spurs will play their first NBA Cup game against Houston on Nov. 7 in San Antonio and will wear new Statement Edition uniforms.

San Antonio is in the West Group C along with Denver, Houston, Golden State, and Portland.

DE’AARON FOX HANDS OUT FREE SNEAKERS

Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox surprised local fans with a pair of new sneakers, and not just any sneakers.

During a pickup game, Fox unexpectedly showed up to the Red McCombs Community Court at Hemisfair Park with plenty of his new Spurs Fiesta-themed D. Fox 2 ‘Gamer’ sneakers.

And from the looks of it, the players were thrilled at the opportunity to meet with the Spurs guard and show off their free kicks.
