SAN ANTONIO — A parked car was pummeled by a hit-and-run driver, and the whole thing was caught on camera.
Video shows a truck side-swiping a car, backing into it, then the driver of that truck just takes off.
This happened around six last Friday night at Hicks Avenue and Amanda Street.
Luckily, no one was hurt, but plenty of damage was done to the front and back of Samantha Perez’s car. Now, she just wants to know who did it.
“I guess because the tires were so big he kind of rode the side of the car, and then ended at the front of the car, drove through her neighbor’s fence, and then backed up into the front of my car,” Perez said.
Perez can still drive her car, but the bigger problem for her is that the driver took off.
“It’s really disheartening, no note, no accountability.”
And she doesn’t know the license plate of the truck.
“It’s just frustrating that no one can be responsible.”
Perez had parked her car near her friend’s house to spend a night out at SeaWorld.
“The back axle was bent inward, for the most part, it’s all cosmetic.”
SAPD told KENS 5 they have no suspects yet, but whoever did this faces a charge of failure to stop, causing over $200 in damage.
And while she keeps her spirits up, she hopes to take some reckless driver off the road.
“I’m sure you worked really hard for that – I worked really hard for this car – it sucks you think you’re above it and can leave.”
This is an open investigation, and if you have any information, please reach out to the police.
