CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We’ve all heard the expression “Where’s the fire?” when someone’s in a rush, but Corpus Christi Police Department officers found the fire had literally been on a man’s pants in the Uptown neighborhood on Friday night.
Police reported receiving a call for help at about 7:22 p.m.
During the call, a man told officers he fell asleep while smoking, and, when he woke up, his pants were on fire.
CCPD Public Information Sr. Ofc. Travis Pace said police found the man in the 1300 block of South Staples Street with injuries to his groin area.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
There is no word on his condition.
