Aldape’s phrase caught on quickly with Silver and Black fans.
SAN ANTONIO — Popular San Antonio Spurs fan Felipe Aldape has passed away, his family has announced.
“It’s with a heavy heart on December 21, 2024. We lost my Tio Felipe Aldape. He is [in] heaven with his daughter, dancing the night away,” shared his niece, Yolanda Reyes, on social media. “Please keep our family in prayers!!! My thoughts and prayers are with my Aldape Family.”
Aldape became popular among Spurs fans after his viral 2017 interview in which he coined the phrase, “Nombre shut up, go Spurs go,” during the Spurs playoff push.
