North Texan wins $5 million on Texas Lottery scratch ticket. And 3 more are out there somewhere.

The first of four $5 million prizes have been claimed.

FRISCO, Texas — A Frisco resident won a $5 million prize from a scratch-off lottery ticket, officials said.

The winning ticket was purchased at the RaceTrac at 2676 Eldorado Parkway in Frisco. The person who won the prize — which was the top dollar amount in the Texas Lottery’s $5 Million Royale game — chose to remain anonymous.

The $5 million winning ticket was actually the first of four $5 million winners to be claimed in the game, according to Texas Lottery officials. So, three more winners are out there … somewhere.

The game offers a total of $235.4 million in prizes and the odds of winning any prize in the game are one in 3.66, officials said.

Scratch-off tickets for the game cost $50.

Aside from the top prizes, 29 people have claimed winnings of $10,000 (out of a possible 112) and 1,390 people have claimed winnings of $1,000. More than 150,000 people have broken even on the game, winning $50.
