North Texas resident claims $1M Powerball prize

The winner chose to remain anonymous.

MCKINNEY, Texas — A North Texas resident is $1 million richer after claiming a Texas Lottery Powerball prize-winning ticket.

The winning ticket was bought at a Walmart Supercenter store in the 2000 block of N. Redbud Boulevard in McKinney, according to a press release. The winner chose to remain anonymous.

The winning Quick Pick ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (9-29-31-34-43), but not the red Powerball number (2), the press release states.

Powerball grand prizes start at $20 million and continue up until the jackpot is won, according to a press release.

Players win the Grand Prize by matching five numbers from a field of 69 numbers and one Powerball number from a set of 26 numbers.

Drawings are broadcast Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:12 p.m.
