
Firefighters from multiple agencies battled the blaze Thursday morning.
SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters from multiple agencies battled a blaze on the northeast side of San Antonio Thursday morning.
The fire was reported around 11 a.m. in a home on Melbury Forest near Montgomery Drive and Walzem Road.
When first responders arrived at the home, they were met with smoke showing from the roof of the home. Within minutes of arriving, flames appeared through the roof near the chimney.
Officials say the fire progressed from the center of the house to the right side and into attic space.
Firefighters say they were told that some occupants were seen entering the home and nobody saw them leave. They did a primary search and a secondary search, and nobody was found.
Firefighters had the fire under control in about 30 to 45 minutes.
A resident appeared at the location and were okay.
Arson will be investigating. Nobody was injured while working to extinguish the fire.
Officials say the home appears to be a total loss, but no word on the amount of damages was provided.
