Northside ISD teacher assistant arrested after kissing special needs student in classroom, affidavit shows

The suspect admitted to talking to the 16-year-old special needs student about marriage and having children together, according to the affidavit.

SAN ANTONIO — A teacher’s aide at Warren High School is accused of having an inappropriate intimate relationship with a 16-year-old student with special needs.

On Jan. 15, SAPD responded to the Northside ISD high school after receiving a report of a teacher having inappropriate contact with a special needs student.

Upon arrival, an affidavit states the principal showed officers a video of teacher aide George Rene Aguilar Jr. kissing a 16-year-old girl with special needs in a classroom.

In an investigation ran by the school, Aguilar allegedly admitted to kissing the teen. The victim added that Aguilar also asked to be in a relationship after she finished school.

When Aguilar went to public safety headquarters for a voluntary statement, the affidavit goes into detail on several different occasions Aguilar admitted to having intimate and very inappropriate meetings with the victim.

According to the affidavit, Aguilar said he and the victim kissed on at least five separate occasions and talked about marriage and having children together.

Aguilar was arrested and faces a charge of improper relationship between educator and student.

Northside ISD said Aguilar was hired in April 2014 as a substitute teacher before becoming a instructional assistant at Warren High School in October 2018.

“NISD has filed all necessary reports with relevant agencies, including Child Protective Services (CPS) and the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD). We are cooperating fully with these authorities to ensure a thorough and complete investigation,” the district said. “This is a very serious and sensitive matter and we are limited in the specific details we can share due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.”

Records show Aguilar posted his $75,000 bond on Friday, Jan. 16.

Aguilar has a pre-indictment hearing set for April 16, 2026.
