Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles transferring to TCU

Miles was widely regarded as the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft, behind Paige Bueckers, until Miles announced she would forgo the draft and transfer.

FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU women’s basketball coach Mark Campbell has struck gold again in the transfer portal, according to reports.

In 2023, Campbell brought in Sedona Prince and Madison Conner. In 2024, Hailey Van Lith transferred to TCU after going to the Elite Eight with both Louisville and LSU. That “big 3” built through the portal led TCU to their first Elite Eight appearance in school history.

Now, another one of the top talents in women’s college hoops is two-stepping down to Texas. Nearly a week-and-a-half after TCU knocked her team out of the NCAA tournament in the Sweet Sixteen, Notre Dame point guard Olivia Miles is transferring to the Horned Frogs, according to multiple reports.

WFAA reached out to TCU Athletics for comment on the news, and a spokesperson told WFAA the university “have not received any information indicating Olivia has signed her FAA as of this moment.”

It should be noted that Miles’ reported commitment broke from On3’s Talia Goodman, who also broke the news of Hailey Van Lith’s transfer from LSU to TCU last April. At the time, both Van Lith and TCU gave a similar stance and verbiage, saying there was interest but nothing was official.

Van Lith ended up publicly announcing her commitment to TCU just over a week later.

Miles was the projected No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, behind top prospect Paige Bueckers, before ESPN’s Shams Charania reported she would forgo the draft and enter the transfer portal.

Miles averaged 14.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game in her four seasons at Notre Dame. Miles has an extra year of eligibility after she tore her ACL in February 2023. She’s a two-time AP All-American and three-time all-conference player in the ACC (only year she didn’t make it was when she tore her ACL).

Miles will effectively step into the shoes of Van Lith, who finished her career as TCU’s starting point guard and will likely be a top 10 pick in the WNBA Draft.
