NOVO Brazil Brewing Company opens its first Texas location in San Antonio, offering a unique blend of Brazilian and Texas culture.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio just picked up a little more sunshine and a lot more flavor.
NOVO Brazil Brewing Company is officially open at North Star Mall, bringing a tropical, high-energy sports bar experience to the city with its first-ever Texas location. The 11,000-square-foot space blends Brazilian culture, bold flavors and wall-to-wall sports into one vibrant hangout.
Founded by Brazilian entrepreneur Tiago Carneiro, NOVO’s San Antonio debut comes after a more than $4 million investment in the buildout and technology, creating what the brewery calls an “elevated sports-watching experience that is unmatched in the city.”
“NOVO’s soul has always been Brazilian,” Carneiro said. “We carefully selected San Antonio as our first place to open in Texas because of the city’s love for sports, community, and great food. It reminds me so much of home in Brazil. San Antonio is the perfect place to plant our roots and our boots.”
From the moment guests walk in, the Brazil-meets-Texas vibe is hard to miss. The entrance features the iconic black-and-white Copacabana sidewalk waves, while inside, lush tropical décor and handcrafted Brazilian furniture set the scene.
Sports fans will feel right at home. The dining room seats more than 300 guests and is surrounded by 80 feet of LED video walls, a 20-foot main screen, and a state-of-the-art sound system. And big plays don’t go unnoticed, complete with CO₂ goal blasts and lighting effects for touchdowns, homeruns and baskets.
NOVO’s menu brings Brazilian favorites together with Texas-style comfort food. Guests can dig into classics like coxinha (crispy chicken croquette), picanha (prime sirloin, Brazil’s most beloved cut), Brazilian empanadas and yucca fries, or stick with familiar crowd-pleasers like wings, carne asada nachos and the NOVO Burger.
At the bar, there are 40 taps pouring NOVO brews, local craft beer and domestic favorites. The brewery is known for tropical flavors like Mango IPA, Coconut Haze and Otay Lager, along with NOVA Easy Kombucha, offered in hard and non-alcoholic options. Signature cocktails include the Brazilian Caipirinha, the Sunset Slam, and the Sexy Piña Colada.
“We want every guest to feel Brazilian hospitality — to share a meal, cheer for their team, and feel the joy of our culture,” said Carneiro. “Brazil and San Antonio both have big hearts, bold flavors, and a love for celebration. That’s the connection we want to bring.”
