SAN ANTONIO — An off-duty Bexar County Sheriff’s Office corporal is facing criminal charges following her arrest earlier this month, according to BCSO.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Denisse Villalobos, 31, was arrested on December 19, and is being charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member and Terroristic Threat of a Family or Household Member. Both charges are listed as involving a married or cohabitating relationship.

Villalobos is a three-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and is currently assigned to the Detention Bureau, where she holds the rank of corporal. Records show she has been employed with the agency since April 18, 2022.

In line with department policies and Bexar County Civil Service Rules, the Sheriff’s Office says Villalobos has been issued a notice of proposed termination. She has also been placed on administrative leave pending termination following her arrest.

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a separate but concurrent administrative investigation is underway. That investigation will move forward once the criminal case is resolved.

The criminal investigation is being handled by the San Antonio Police Department.
