
The officer was on their way to help the other officer who saw the driver when that driver ran through a red light.
SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio police officer hit a driver who they say was driving erratically after she ran a stop sign on the east side of town.
It happened at the intersection of Rigsby Avenue and Clark Avenue just after midnight, according to police,
Police say one officer observed the 10-year-old woman allegedly driving erratically on the road, disregarding several stop signs and traffic signals. That officer called for backup before they tried to pull her over.
The officer who was responding to that request for backup was on their way when the suspect ran through a stop sign and was hit by the officer’s vehicle.
The officer was taken to the hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. The 19-year-old woman was arrested at the scene for reckless driving.
Police say the officer is expected to be okay.
