
Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Castle Hills where an officer fired at an individual armed with edged weapons during a hit-and-run response.
SAN ANTONIO — A man has died after being shot by Castle Hills police following a reported hit-and-run accident Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The Castle Hills Police Department said the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of the westbound frontage road of NW Loop 410.
Investigators said an officer was responding to a reported hit-and-run when an individual exited a vehicle and advanced toward the officer while armed with edged weapons. This prompted the officer to discharge their firearm, according to police.
Authorities said the suspect died from his injuries and no officers were hurt. The scene has been secured, and officials said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional details about the individual involved will be released as they become available.
The Texas Rangers are conducting an investigation regarding the incident.
