Officer responding to overdose call t-boned by driver in pickup truck, police say

SAPD says the officer had lights and sirens on when the crash happened near Fredericksburg Road.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio police officer was injured Monday night in a crash while responding to an overdose call.

According to SAPD, the crash happened around 10:20 p.m. near Fredericksburg Road and Williamsburg Place.

Police say the officer was responding with lights and sirens when a woman driving a pickup truck pulled out of a restaurant parking lot and tried to turn in front of the patrol vehicle.

The driver then T-boned the officer’s vehicle, investigators said.

The woman was ticketed and suffered minor injuries. The officer had a scratch to the forehead.

SAPD, SAFD and EMS all responded to the scene.
