Officer shoots at suspect amid emergency response to hit-and-run incident in Castle Hills, police say

Police are investigating a shooting in Castle Hills where an officer fired at an individual armed with edged weapons during a hit-and-run response.

SAN ANTONIO — A shooting is under investigation Wednesday morning in the Castle Hills area, according to police.

The Castle Hills Police Department said the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of the westbound frontage road of NW Loop 410.

Investigators say an officer was responding to a reported hit-and-run when an individual exited a vehicle and advanced toward the officer while armed with edged weapons,. This prompted the officer to discharge their firearm, according to police.

Authorities said no officers were injured. The scene has been secured and officials say there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Officials say the investigation remains ongoing, and additional details about the individual involved will be released as they become available.
