
Police released additional information about the violent attack they say was discovered Wednesday morning around 5 a.m.
UNIVERSAL CITY, Texas — New details have emerged about the stabbing death of a nine-year-old boy in Universal City.
Police have charged the mother of David Medina-Ehanire with capital murder in connection with his death.
Officials held a news conference Thursday morning to provide an update.
Wilma Medina has been charged with capital murder of a person under 10 years of age. Her bond is set at $600,000.
Universal City Police released additional information about the violent attack they say was discovered Wednesday morning around 5 a.m.
An arrest affidavit details how the boy’s father arrived home from a late working shift and found his son being attacked by the boy’s mother.
They say dad initially subdued the woman but officers had to intervene to bring her under control.
“When officers arrived on scene, they were able to do a phenomenal job of taking the suspect into custody and preventing additional harm and really save her life,” said David Fawcett, Universal City Police.
The Police Chief said it was a very difficult scene for officers and medics because of the nature of the injuries to the child.
They said they’ve debriefed everyone and offered counseling, with the chief saying there are some things his people just can’t forget.
Officials did confirm multiple weapons were recovered from the home.
They expressed gratitude for the support of the community in reaching out to the victim’s family as the child’s father is a police officer with a neighboring community.
At last check Medina remained jailed with that $600,000 bond.
