SAN ANTONIO — Officials are investigating after a vacant house went up in flames on the city’s southeast side early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the 400 block of Pennystone Avenue near Goliad Road around 12:45 a.m. for reports of a home on fire.

When first responders arrived at the home, they found a fire in a structure in back of the house, possibly a garage. The home was unoccupied. They worked quickly to extinguish the flames.

Officials say that a power line did fall due to the fire, but no word on whether power was impacted to neighboring homes.

The damage to the home was extensive but officials did not give a monetary amount. The fire will be investigated. No injuries were reported.

This is a developing story.
