HARTFORD, Conn. — Hartford firefighters rescued a small dog from the roof of a two-and-a-half story house Sunday.
At 3:47 p.m., the Hartford Fire Department went to a house on New Park Avenue after receiving a report of a dog on the roof.
Arriving firefighters found the small dog on the top of the roof, said Mario Oquendo, Jr., Hartford Fire Department district chief and public information officer. One of the ladder truck crews extended a bucket to the roof, allowing them to bring it down safely.
Firefighters learned that the dog went on the porch roof through an open attic window and then jumped onto the main roof of the house.
“Based on his bravery climbing and comfortability being on the roof I may have to offer this puppy a job,” Oquendo said.
The dog was not injured.
