One dead, one injured after shooting in west San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO — One person is dead and another hurt after a shooting “related to law enforcement activity” in west San Antonio, according to fire department officials responding to the scene.

It’s unknown which agency might be involved in the shooting, but Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar is expected to provide an update at some point. The San Antonio Fire Department said the two people shot were suspects, but it’s unknown what crimes they may be connected to.

Authorities initially responded to the 1200 block of Old Highway 90 just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. Staff at the nearby Pre-K 4 SA West Education Center said there were “shots in the area” and the facility was locked down as a precaution before it was given the all-clear.

This is a developing story.
