SAN ANTONIO — One person was displaced after a small fire broke out at an apartment complex just northwest of downtown early Thursday morning, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.
Firefighters were called around 12:59 a.m. to the Green Court Apartments at 119 Williamsburg Place, near Fredericksburg Road.
An SAFD battalion chief said crews arrived to find a fire inside a vacant unit, creeping up an interior wall. Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames before the fire could spread further.
Officials said electricity had to be shut off to about half of the apartments in the building as a precaution.
Only one resident from a second-story unit was displaced due to smoke. No injuries were reported, though EMS checked on a pregnant woman at the scene.
Damage was described as minimal. SAFD, EMS and SAPD responded.
