One found dead, another still missing after both were swept away in North Texas creek

According to police, the search for the second person is still ongoing.

DALLAS — Officials with Dallas Fire-Rescue, the Dallas Police Department and the Game Warden’s Office are searching for a person who never resurfaced from a creek Saturday afternoon. 

According to police, DFR responded to a water rescue near 2779 Mountain Creek Parkway at around 1:37 p.m. 

Police said one person was reportedly swept under while fishing in a creek in the area and a second person jumped in to rescue, but was also swept under. Neither of them resurfaced, police said. 

According to police, the three agencies worked together and found one of them, an adult man, dead around 5 p.m. 

Police said the man’s body was given to the Medical Examiner which will confirm the identity and cause of death. 

Search efforts for the second person are still ongoing, police said.
