One killed in pedestrian accident on city’s east side

A Ford F250 struck a 60-year-old man as he darted into the road, police said.

SAN ANTONIO — A man in his 60s was hit and killed by a pickup truck in neighborhood on the east side, police say.

The incident happened around 11:22 a.m. on Benton Road at Osborn, near the intersection of North New Braunfels and I-35.

Police at the scene said the pedestrian darted out into the middle of the street as a Ford F250 was coming by and was struck by the pickup. 

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup did stop to help render aid and is not facing any charges at this time.

Police did not say if the man who was killed was a resident of the neighborhood.
