SAN ANTONIO — One person is dead following an incident at a sand plant in Poteet Thursday morning, officials said.
Emergency crews responded to Signal Peak Silica of Atascosa after a reported “mudslide” near Highway 16 in northern Atascosa County.
Authorities said at least one person has died. The victim was not identified.
Atascosa County Sheriff Jake Guerra said the scene was currently active because of “an avalanche at a sand plant.”
No other information was provided.
